You sound a magnificent player. I'm not an American citizen so I don't really know how the American Education system works, but over here i'm sure you'd do very well with a handicap you've got. Obviously you can lower that.

Not every proffessional golfer has turned professional at an extremley young age. Some concentrate on a University degree so they've got something to fall back on.

I wish you all the best on your career, good luck

Im a keen golfer an I have a handicap of 17.Not great but personally I don't really want a career in golf. I don't play everyday but every weekend. During the week i'll also play the local pitch and putt course.

    All the best

Dont mean to urinate on your fire mate but i really think you would need to be scratch or lower by now, i'm not saying it's not possible but there will be such a good standard at college a scratch player would seem pretty average. There is a guy at my club that is a plus 3 and he is struggling on the europro tour. I played in florida last year with an american guy that was a scratch player, could hit the ball out of sight, was on every par 5 green in 2, had all the game yet he couldn't make it on the us mini tours, so get to scratch and you may, just may have a chance. Good luck, determination and confidence is one of the best clubs in your bag.

You would really need to get better in a hurry. Most colleges won't give a scholarship to anyone who's not the number one on their golf team and placed high at the state meet.

well that depends im a 2.8 right now and earlier in the year when i wasnt as good my scores for my high school team ( i was a sophomore then, im goin into my junior year now) were gettin me some d 3 letters (i was averaging about 79 at the time, which coming off the winter is pretty good) i would say if you want a scholorship your handicap should be around 1 or so one kid on my team got a scholorship to michigan state and he is about a +2

Re: do I have any chance??

You might want to look into lesser colleges and Universities.  I was offered a scholarship to St. Marys University in San Antonio, Tx. when I was young guy. My handicap at the time was about 2 or 3. I played with the St. Mary's coach just one time and was offered the scholarship. Anyway don't give up and if you really love this game you'll stick with it until you are a really good player.  Don't listen to negative people even if the odds are against you.
