    Re: Tigers Knee

I was thinking the other day about this....

We aren't very surprised when we hear that Freddy Couples is having some back pain, or maybe that Phil Mickelson has some shoulder pain... but mention that Tiger has to have season-ending surgery and millions literally have their jaws hit their laps. Tiger has dominated so much and had such a reputation for physical fitness that we just can't believe that he is human sometimes. This reputation gets even more interesting when you see him nearly collapse after each shot in the US Open Sunday and Monday, watch him get up and walk to the next shot, and do time after time until he wins it.

Most of us hackers can't concentrate through 18 holes with nothing on the line. Tiger does it in a major with stress fractures and a torn ACL shooting him with pain the whole time.

Zach Johnson made a comment, allbeit in fun, that he has a hurt wrist and got "no love" from the reporters about it.  That it was all about Tiger.  I miss him terrible.  I am still watching golf but find myself hoping no one will pass him in anything.  LOLOL

LOL... funny that you mention that. I caught myself looking at the FedEx Cup point standings the other day! I know he can't win it when he is out for the season, but a small part of me wanted to see his number stick until the end of the year. It would have been funny if he had made enough points from the tournaments he competed in to cause a must-win situation in the last tournament!

On a similar thought, I wonder how long Tiger can maintain his world number one ranking without even playing. Would like to see the math on this one.

    Re: Tigers Knee

the calculations were that tiger will lose about 456 points.  That puts him down around 11.00 something or a little less.  However for Phil to pass him he had to win about 4 more tournaments and at least 1 or 2 majors.  That's not happening.  LOL  So Tiger's ranking is safe for now.

    Re: Tigers Knee

Just think..Tiger said he has been in pain for quite some time now (ten to twelve years). That makes just about every major he has won even more significant, don't ya think?
