Justin Timberlake Interview with Golf Digest

This month is Golf Digest's second annual best Musician Golfers issue and JT appears at a tie for 15th with a 6.  They did quite a good interview with him talking about his game, playing Augusta, the US Open Challenge, music, and golf in general. He says he shot 82, 83 in the practice for the US Open Challenge and was pretty disappointed with his 98.  He also mentions somewhere he isn't overpaid, nor underpaid... uh, yeah man, you're overpaid too!  But it's a really good read if anyone is intersted, he's a pretty funny cat (and he talks a little bit about Tiger for those who will only read it if they know that.)

I knew he was good, but I didn't think he was this good:

Have you spoken with Butch since then?

He texted me after the ESPYs and said, "The [bleeping] ESPYs were hilarious. How's your swing?"

I'd love to spend more time with Butch. He told me he could get me down to scratch if I worked at it. I feel like I need to give myself the opportunity to try

Have you talked with Tiger about Torrey?
I committed to be the host of the ESPYs because I knew that'd be a way for me to finally meet Tiger Woods. Then he tears an ACL, can't come, and I don't get to meet him. He's invited me to Tiger Jam before, and I hear it's a great event, so maybe I'll see him there sometime.

Tiger is expected to be great at every tournament. I'm guessing that as a guy who has sold out Madison Square Garden for three nights, that you also experience that pressure of having to be great every time. What's that like?
Like playing four rounds in the Open. By the way, the last of those nights at the Garden, I had a sore throat, so there you go: There's my bum knee.

i like what timberlake says, that people don't know the extent of work that he does. i'd have to agree with that. same with tiger. with the time he puts in practicing and all the pr work, it adds up to a lot of work. i personally couldn't do it.

I hate when they play that card.  That "I work soooo hard card."  I will say this, he's right about Touring, it is two years of his life.  But give me a break on the "my job is so hard" and "people don't know what we put into it" garbage.  I love JT too, it's no slight against him or Tiger, but they're jobs are far from the toughest jobs anyone could have.

Other than that part the article was awesome, that stuff gets my goat.  Just like when Tour pros say they work so hard, they need a bunch of time off.  Give me a break.
